Set up remote reply
Forward SMS is a versatile Android app that seamlessly forwards text to emails, phone numbers, URLs/APIs, or Telegram. It also forwards phone alerts like missed calls, outgoing calls, shutdown/turn-on events, and low battery alerts. Additionally, it offers auto and remote replies for efficient message management.
The Remote Reply feature lets you manage and respond to SMS messages from a secondary phone number. You can use a different phone (the secondary phone) to reply to SMS messages as if you were using your primary phone. The primary phone is the device where the Forward SMS app is installed.
The app automatically detects the phone number or contact name and sends the SMS from the primary phone number. The recipient sees the SMS as if it was sent from the primary phone number.
This is particularly useful when you don't have your primary phone with you but still need to reply to important messages. With a secondary phone, you can stay connected and responsive.
You can specify the recipient of the remote reply either by typing a contact name or by entering a phone number, which makes it easy to reply to numbers that are not saved in your contacts. If you use a contact name, it must be saved in the address book of the primary phone. See the supported formats to learn more.
The feature also supports multiple secondary phones. More than one secondary phone can be authorized to reply to SMS messages on behalf of the primary phone. Each secondary phone can reply to messages independently and choose where the responses are sent.
Follow the steps below to set up Remote Reply:
Add the secondary phone numbers
Enter the phone numbers that can trigger a remote reply. Only the numbers entered here will be allowed to send SMS.
Or allow all numbers
(Optional) You can also allow all phone numbers to trigger a remote reply, but be careful: this could let anyone send SMS on your behalf.
Save
Tap the Save button, and voilà! You're all set.
In short, Remote Reply makes managing SMS more flexible: you can reply from designated secondary phones and choose the recipient by phone number or contact. It keeps you connected and responsive even when your primary phone isn't with you.
