How to forward sms to email

Table Of Contents:
Forward SMS is a versatile Android app that seamlessly forwards SMS to emails, phone numbers, URLs/APIs, or Telegram. It also forwards phone alerts like missed calls, outgoing calls, shutdown/turn-on events, and low battery alerts. Additionally, it offers auto and remote replies for efficient message management.
In order to forward text messages to your email address, we need to create a rule. In the rule, you can input the email address and configure other details such as forwarding selected messages by applying the filters. In the following steps, we will create a basic rule.
Set up forwarding to email
- Tap on the Add Rule button to create a new rule.
- From the available options, select the Basic Rule option. Other rules, e.g. Advance Rule can also be used to forward to multiple email addresses.
- From the receiver menu option, select Email. Besides an email address, you can also forward SMS messages to a phone number, Telegram account, or a URL endpoint for versatile forwarding options.
- Enter the email address to which you want the SMS messages to be forwarded.
- (Optional) Apply a filter based on the message content or sender to make sure only specific messages are forwarded to the email address. This can be done by disabling the Forward all messages toggle.
- Once you have configured the rule as per your requirements, tap on the Save button to save the basic rule settings. While saving the rule required permissions will be requested.
- After saving the rule, it's recommended to test its functionality by selecting the option. This allows you to verify that the rule is correctly set up and functioning as intended, ensuring that SMS messages are forwarded according to your specified criteria. If an email is not received, check in the spam folder or follow the below guide.
By following these steps, you can efficiently forward SMS to an email. Enjoy the convenience of automated rule-based SMS forwarding!

I'm not receiving any email
We forward emails from the mailer@forward-sms.com address. There could be multiple reasons for messages being not forwarded to your email.
- Email entered is incorrect. This is the most common reason we have seen while troubleshooting such issues.
- Messages might not be forwarded due to filters. Check-in messages history to understand the reason why SMS was not forwarded to email.
- Emails might be going to the spam folder.

Use your own email account to forward
By default your messages will be forwarded using the app's email account. You have the option to use your own email account such as Gmail, Outlook or Zoho.
There are multiple reasons and benefits of using your email account:
- Privacy: Using your mailbox will ensure that your messages leave the device only using your account.
- No Sending Limits: Based on your plan, there are limits on how many messages you can forward daily. With your email, you can forward more if your email provider has higher limits.
- Outages: Since we lease a mail server to forward messages via email, it could have an outage. You could avoid that by using your email.
Follow these steps to use your email account
- Go to app settings and select the Email Configuration option.
- By default, app email option will be selected. If You have a Gmail account then select the Gmail option and sign in to configure.
- Otherwise, you can select the SMTP option to configure.
