Forward SMS is a versatile Android app that seamlessly forwards text to emails, phone numbers, URLs/APIs, or Telegram. It also forwards phone alerts like missed calls, outgoing calls, shutdown/turn-on events, and low battery alerts. Additionally, it offers auto and remote replies for efficient message management.

This guide will walk you through the steps required to forward SMS to Telegram. You can forward text messages either to a user or to a group.

Prerequisites

In Telegram, then in the Forward SMS app

Forward SMS to a single user

  1. Find the Forward SMS bot

    Search for the Forward SMS bot in the Telegram app by its username: @forwardsms_android_bot

  2. Get your Chat ID

    Join the Forward SMS bot and send /start as a chat message. Copy the Chat ID it returns.

  3. Create a new rule

    Open the Forward SMS app and create a new rule.

  4. Choose Telegram as the receiver

    Select Telegram as the forwarding option.

  5. Enter the Chat ID and save

    Enter the Chat ID from step 2 in the input and save the rule.

  6. Send a test message

    Send a test message on the rule to confirm that SMS are forwarded correctly.

In your Telegram group, then in the Forward SMS app

Forward SMS to a group

Similar to forwarding SMS directly to a user, you can also add the Forward SMS bot to a group. Follow the steps below to forward SMS to your Telegram group:

  1. Add a new member to the group

    Tap the New Member option in your group.

  2. Add the Forward SMS bot

    Search for the Forward SMS bot in the member search by its username: @forwardsms_android_bot

  3. Get the group Chat ID

    Send /start to get the Chat ID. Copy the Chat ID to use in the app when you set up the rule.

  4. Create a new rule

    Open the Forward SMS app and create a new rule.

  5. Choose Telegram as the receiver

    Select Telegram as the forwarding option.

  6. Enter the Chat ID and save

    Enter the Chat ID in the input and save the rule.

  7. Send a test message

    Send a test message on the rule to confirm that SMS are forwarded correctly.
