Forward SMS is a versatile iOS app that seamlessly forwards SMS to emails, Slack, Discord, URLs/APIs, or Telegram.

This guide will walk you through the steps required to forward SMS to Telegram. You can either forward text messages to a user or a group.

Prerequisite:

• The Telegram app has already been set up.
• Forward SMS app has been installed and is ready to use.

Forward SMS to a single user

1. Search for Forward SMS bot in Telegram App.
   
2. Join Forward SMS Bot and send /start as a chat message. Copy the Chat ID returned.
   
3. Open Forward SMS application and create a new Rule.
   
4. Select Receivers option to add Telegram receiver.
   
5. Select Telegram option.
   
6. Enter Chat ID from step 2 in the Input and save the rule.
   
7. Send a test message on rule to confirm SMS are being forwarded correctly.

Forward SMS to a group

Similar to forwarding SMS directly to a user, you can also add Forward SMS bot to a group. Follow below steps to forward SMS to your telegram group:

1. Tap on New Member option in your group
   
2. Search for Forward SMS bot.
   
3. Send start to get chat ID. Copy the Chat ID to use in app to set up rule.
   
4. Open Forward SMS application and create a new Rule.
   
5. Select Telegram as forwarding option.
   
6. Enter Chat ID in the Input and save the rule.
   
7. Send a test message on the rule to confirm SMS are being forwarded correctly.
