How to forward text to email in iOS

Table Of Contents:
Forward SMS is a versatile iOS app that seamlessly forwards SMS to emails, Slack, Discord, URLs/APIs, or Telegram.
In order to send text messages to your email address, we need to create a rule. In the rule, you can input the email address and configure other details such as forwarding selected messages by applying the filters or scheduling when a rule should work. In the following steps, we will create a rule.
Set up forwarding to email
- Open Forward SMS application and create a new Rule.
- Tap on the Add Receiver button to add an email receiver.
- From the receiver options, select Email. Besides an email address, you can also forward text messages to Telegram, MS Teams, discord, or a REST API for versatile forwarding options.
- Enter the email address to which you want the text messages to be forwarded.
- (Optional) Apply a filter based on the message content or sender to make sure only specific messages are forwarded to the email address. This filter can be set based on different condition types including Regex. To view the filters feature, turn on the Apply Filter toggle.
- (Optional) You can also set the schedule when the rule should or should not work. This is helpful when you want the text forwarding to work during weekdays only. To view the schedule feature turn on the Apply Schedule toggle.
- Send a test message to make sure the rule is working correctly. This allows you to verify that the rule is correctly set up and functioning as intended, ensuring that text messages are forwarded according to your specified criteria. If an email is not received, check in the spam folder or follow the below guide.
- Once you have configured the rule as per your requirements, tap on the Save button to save the rule.
By following these steps, you can efficiently forward SMS to an email. Enjoy the convenience of automated rule-based SMS forwarding!
I'm not receiving any email
There could be multiple reasons for messages being not forwarded to your email:
- Email entered is incorrect. This is the most common reason we have seen while troubleshooting such issues.
- Messages might not be forwarded due to filters. Check in the messages history section to understand the reason why SMS was not forwarded to email.
- Emails might be going to the spam folder.
- Firewall or network policy blocking emails. In the case of corporate emails, our emails might get filtered. You can get in touch with your IT or admin team or we can help out.
