How to forward SMS to Microsoft Teams

Forward SMS is a versatile iOS app that seamlessly forwards SMS to Microsoft Teams, emails, URLs/APIs, slack, discord or Telegram.

This guide will walk you through the steps required to forward SMS to Telegram. You can either forward text messages to a user or a group.

Prerequisite:

• Microsoft Teams has already been set up.
• Forward SMS app has been installed and is ready to use.

Set up Teams webhook

1. Open teams app and create a channel where SMS should be forwarded.
2. Select More options ••• on the right side of the channel name. Tap on Manage Channel option.
   
3. Click on Edit button in the connectors section.
   
4. Search for Incoming Webhook and tap on Add or Configure button.
   
5. Provide a name for webhook and upload image if necessary. Tap on Create after providing details.
   
6. The webhook has been created and its URL is available to use. Copy the URL and click on Done button.
   
7. Keep the webhook URL handy as it will be used in app to setup forwarding rule

Set up rule in app

1. Create a rule.
2. Add a receiver and select Teams from the options.
3. In the URL section, enter the URL provided by Teams after creating webhook.
4. Send a test message. This allows you to verify that the rule is correctly set up and functioning as intended, ensuring that SMS messages are forwarded according to your specified criteria.
5. Save the rule.
6. Your rule has been setup, check in Teams application to make sure forwarded text are received.
